Songs that are mp3 only
Halo : Steel Rain- click here to download this song Description : Inspired by Halo (challenged in a way by vector40), sit back, enjoy the beat.
If you've listened to the other songs on this page, you'll know that this style
is definitely not something I do often (nor usually well at all =). All sounds
recorded from Halo are copyright Bungie Studios (though used without their
explicit permission).
Midi
Mus2- click here to download this song Description : This is the first midi I wrote that actually sounded good. It was written in ten minutes after I got home from high school one day (had a little melody in my head the entire day).
Mus3- click here to download this song Description : I'm particularly proud of this one simply because it's a complete musical idea - the midi is not supposed to repeat, and it finishes the song nicely. This midi touches on a sad note (or two) and was written in half an hour.
Mus4- click here to download this song Description : Mus4 was written over an entire week, actually. Had a hard time finishing this one for some reason. The midi consists of a harp supplying the base, with some choir and strings thrown in for melody and harmony.
Mus5- click here to download this song Description : This midi sounds like a military march at the beginning (and, consequently, it's the first midi where I use drums).
Mus6- click here to download this song Description : A sense of peace flows from this one, with a nice play between harp, choir, and strings.
Mus7- click here to download this song Description : Originally a piano work, I wrote this midi after giving up on how to develope it on piano. As you can tell, it sounds nice, but doesn't go much of anywhere. This midi was the first one to use the bell sound.
Mus8- click here to download this song Description : If you've ever played the game Mechwarrior, you'll recognize the piano line from the briefing part of the game. I heard that the first time, then said "I could do better with that idea" and, hopefully, I did.
Mus9- click here to download this song Description : When I listen to this one, I always get an impression of a huge orchestra at the beginning (even though it's only two instruments). Definitely an interesting piece, though.
Mus10- click here to download this song Description : Mus10 has a problem (if you can't hear the choir in some parts, you already know what I'm talking about). Evidently, I ran into the max voices for an AWE 32/64 card. Oops =)
Mus11- click here to download this song Description : This was also originally a piano work. It was translated directly to midi. Normally I avoid doing this since the piano version will always be superior, but this particular song lent itself rather nicely to midi, so I gave into the urge. This one repeats nicely.
Mus12- click here to download this song Description : The amount of drums in this one was unprecedented. This is also one of my personal favorites (with the nice and heavy church organ thrown in there). This one wrote quickly and flowed easily from mind to file.
Mus13- click here to download this song Description : I wrote a waltz for the piano, and this midi is a shortened conversion. It sounds nice, but since it's missing the best part of the waltz, it's just another midi.
Mga1- click here to download this song Description : A classical type piece, this midi isn't finished, yet I have no plan to actually finish it. So, here it is, in all it's incomplete glory.
Mga2- click here to download this song Description : This midi is the midi version of Midnight Alley, a piano piece I wrote a while back. While the midi does little to capture the actual ambience of the piano version, it's still well done.
Mga3- click here to download this song Description : Another piano piece ported to midi. This midi , as with Mga2, doesn't do well to portray the actual feeling that the piano song does. However, this midi was more of an exercise in the act of porting from piano, so enjoy.
Mga4- click here to download this song Description : Mga4 is the only midi I've written that translated well to midi from piano. As well as a complete piece, this has a nice melody and harmony scheme.
UC- click here to download this song Description : UC was a game I was working on, and this midi was originally written to be webpage background music for the UC site my friend had put up for me. However, that site has long disappeared and this midi (with a healthy amount of drums) has survived and so here it is for your enjoyment.
New1- click here to download this song Description : Don't be distracted by the different naming convention. New1 is a cool sounding, more rock-like midi.
Webpage1- click here to download this song Description : This used to be background music to an old site of mine.
Webpage2- click here to download this song Description : Another midi that used to be used as background to an old personal page.
Command Decision- click here to download this song Description : I was bored one night, so I sat down and wrote this nice little midi. The name (if you'll notice) is actually descriptive of the song. When I listened to the completed midi the first time, I had the impression of a general trying to make a difficult decision, hence the name.
Beautiful Dementia- click here to download this song Description : Hey, what's with these descriptive names? =) Well, let's just hope they fit. This one is designed to repeat over and over and over again, but I haven't found that I get sick of it, so maybe that's a good sign. I rather enjoy the discord the harp plays throughout the piece; that is where the title comes from.
Mortal Memories- click here to download this song Description : Another one meant to repeat, this one was more of a game idea tune. A bit sad, though that was the intention.
Victory- click here to download this song Description : A bit of techno never hurt anyone... unless you have been beaten at a dance club. A simple, yet catchy little 'ditty'; don't ask where the second part of the song came from, but let's call it inspiration, because, frankly, I really like it. The song is supposed to inspire a vision of a struggle in the beginning (a bit military-ish), with the second part being a sort of celebration. Put the song on repeat, and you have the endless struggle of life - or maybe that's stretching it a bit too far? =)
Tides of War- click here to download this song, or here for the mp3 of the song as it sounds on my system Description : This piece sounds, as intended, as if being played by two pianos. In fact, I think I could write out the sheet music for two pianos. However, the title may be a bit unclear - it was hard coming up with a proper title, and I think the song has an overall 'battle of the pianos' type feel to it, hence the war part. There is a good amount of play between the two parts, and the whole thing repeats tremendously well. Fast paced, the song gives the impression of an army moving urgently into battle, a battle which never stops it's racing tempo.
Death Hymn- click here to download this song, or here for the mp3 of the song as it sounds on my system Description : This short piece came from my fooling around one afternoon in a music store (playing on a nice yamaha electric keyboard on the choir sound). Imagine real people performing this when you listen to it, it's quite sad. =)
Sole Dreamer - click here to download this song, or here for the mp3 of the song as it sounds on my system Description: Another short but sweet piece that nicely repeats. I'm not sure that this title really fits, but it's the closest thing I could come up with. The piece has an ethereal feeling in the opening, but the piano bass gives it an almost march feel while providing beat and tempo. The mp3 version really catches the bass on this one, so be sure to check it out.
Perilous Journey- click here to download this song, or here for the mp3 of the song as it sounds on my system Description : Inspired over a couple days, and one of the longer songs, I can't quite explain this one - the name comes from what images the piece brings to mind. You'll just have to hear it. =). Of that note, regardless of how nice a soundcard you have, check out the mp3 - I use a 32MB midi soundfont with my SB Live, it makes a huge difference.
Wind Waltz- click here to download this song, or here for the mp3 of the song as it sounds on my system Description : A light and playful waltz, it brings to mind gentler, more carefree days. The second song to use the Unison soundfont.
Bad Jazz- click here to download this song, or here for the ogg of the song as it sounds on my system Description : A late night idea, I started the piece with the idea of making it a level song for Marble. However, it nicely took a jazz note and mutated into something you might hear from 7th Guest or 11th Hour (great music).
ModMood- click here to download this song Description : This is my very first mod. It's a succesful adaptation of a piano song I wrote, so enjoy(have it repeat, it repeats nicely)!
Electric Happiness- click here to download this song Description : I have no clue where this one came from. I was diddling around one day and decided to play with the panning properties (as you can tell). This one repeats as well, but gets tiring about the third time =)
Live
#1- click here to download this song Description : Inspired by Rachmaninoff, this is one of the few works I'm actually proud of. I managed to record it while visiting my parents some time ago (they have a stunningly beautiful sounding piano, as you can hear). I have no intention of 'computerizing' this one.
Elva's Song- click here to download this song Description : A very early composition of mine, this is only half complete (the second half turned out crappy, so I just hacked it off midway =). It's dedicated to a very special friend of mine (hence the name).
